Founded in 1981, the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is a non-profit professional and educational organization. AAJA encourages Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) to enter the ranks of journalism, works for fair and accurate coverage of AAPIs, and promotes increasing the number of AAPI journalists and news managers in the industry. AAJA-D.C.'s range includes Annapolis, Baltimore, Richmond and Norfolk as well as the D.C. metropolitan area.
